Calibration Technician

Job Description

Quality Testing Services Inc. is seeking a full time experienced calibration technician. We are a full-service calibration laboratory supporting fields in Aerospace, Defense, Railroad, Medical, and many more. Successful applicants must have a minimum 4 years experience in Metrology in physical, dimensional, low frequency and/or AC/DC electronics. Technicians will be responsible to complete calibrations/repairs, collect and report calibration data, prioritize work schedule.

Requirements

  • Calibration: 2 years
  • High school or equivalent
  • 4 years + Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and/or calibration of DMM’s Oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as experience with an Asset database. The ability to quickly adapt to other software platforms used in day to day calibration activities.
  • High School Diploma/GED with training in metrology elsewhere, formal PMEL training is preferred.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Duties generally include but are not limited to; calibration services, trouble-shooting and/or repair of instrumentation and setup of new instrumentation.
  • Perform field and in-house calibrations, primarily in St. Louis. Only 5% travel
  • Generate and maintain detailed records of all calibrations, maintenance and repairs
  • Achieve above average customer satisfaction with timely turn-around of customer equipment and service
  • Must be able to maintain test calibration standards and work stations

  • Job Summary

    NDT Level 3 Instructor/Consultants will provide instruction, testing, and certification services in a classroom/laboratory setting. Candidates will also provide customers with Consulting Level III services. This is a full time permanent position commencing immediately at our St. Louis,
    Missouri metropolitan area location.

  • Job Responsibilities

    • Understand, apply and impart the essential facts and principles covering the methods of Nondestructive Testing to students, using a variety of instructional techniques
    • Develop and revise curriculum
    • Consultation with clients in the development, approval and administration of training, certification examinations, NDT procedures and Written Practices
    • Classroom management
    • Show personal interest in students and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
    • Client customer service
    • Professional attitude and appearance, at all times
    • Some travel required

    Desired Qualifications

    • Current ASNT NDT Level III
    • Ability to teach/consult advanced methods: UT Detection and Sizing, Phased Array, TOFD, Digital/Computed RT, etc. and / or willingness to learn to teach these advanced methods

    Quality Testing Services, Inc. located in St. Louis, Missouri is a premier provider of nondestructive testing and has an immediate need for a Level II UT inspector with a CWI certification, commencing immediately at our St. Louis, Missouri location.

  • Requirements

    • Must be a certified Level II in UT with experience in shear wave inspection
    • Would prefer the inspector has a minimum of 2 years experience as a Level II
    • Must have current AWS CWI certification, along with knowledge in welding processes
    • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deal directly with customers
    • Must be open to minimal travel (most work will be local)
